How come we don't play Savannah Christian in football? I think it would be a well attended game for both teams and a good rivalary. Some of the kids know each other pretty good. It would be a huge test for us. I'm personally tired of playing Savannah High and Johnson. We know we can't beat them. I would like to see us also try to play Benedicitine and Calvary.

We dont play the private school for several reasons. First its a lose-lose situation for us. If we win we were supposed to because we are a AAAAA size school versus a single-A school. If we lose then we lost to a single-A school. Second, they are notorious for recruiting our kids when they have a chance to watch them play.

Do you have proof of any RH football players being recruited by private schools?

I sure do. Wont name names on here. But, there were a couple of grade school standouts that were recruited "by parents" when they played against savannah youth teams. Some of them went and stayed, some went and came back.

Parents from Savannah private schools will approach the parents of a standout athlete from Rich Hill to discuss their child going to school there. In the past given the lack of success of Rich Hill programs it was easy to sway parents to move there child. Tuition assistance and bus transportation from Rich Hill helped make it easier. New GHSA rules make that a "No, No" for parents, coaches, teachers, and students to recruit.
