In the past few weeks I have been witness to another mass exodus of teachers and administrators from our cherished public school system. I am appalled at our superintendent's inability to retain these talented individuals, which begs the following questions....Does our superintendent, Paul Brooksher, not appreciate what these individuals have brought to our children's education over the past 20+ years? Are these faculty members so fed up with his laissez-faire attitude towards discipline and academic standards that they would sooner leave than continue to watch the foundation, that our school system is built upon, erode beneath their feet? We have kids walking at graduation that are now in summer school performing credit recovery. Teachers have little administrative support in handling major disruptions in the classroom. We are smarter than this Bryan County. We have a used car salesman as our superintendent who basically is a politician looking for the next school board member's vote. Paul Brooksher does not have our children's best interest at heart. It is time for our voter elected school board members to wake up and not let our kids' future be jeopardized by someone's narcissistic motives. I say again, Wake Up Bryan County Voters!!!

Parents control the school system. They elect the Bryan County BOE members that represent them and more importantly their children. These BOE members need to hear from you, the parents. When I was serving on the Bryan County BOE, I was shocked at the number of parents that seem to have complaints but never the time to attend a BOE meeting and make a public statement. I encourage you (the parents)to band together, attend BOE meetings to demand accountability for any acts/decisions that you see as detrimental to your children, teachers, administrators and the school system as a whole.

The School Administrators work for you! You pay most of these people six figure salaries while the median income in Bryan County is around 64k. You deserve and pay for a top notch school system that is community friendly, safe, AND provides an excellent education. An education that will prepare your children for the future. Go out and get it!

June 04, 2014
When my wife and I moved to the Savannah area 15 years ago we chose to move to Richmond Hill for one reason only... the quality of the school system. Every realtor we spoke to steered us to south Bryan County. "Do you really want to live in Savannah and ...
