Take Me To Post Comment Form The problem with the RHHS football team starts with the school administration. The top of the food chain at the high school. Our kids have the worse field, dressing room and equipment to practice with. Coach Brocato is doing the best he can with what he has been given. He tried to bring in some outside coaching to help out (which every team they play has at least 4-5 community coaches)and was denied the use of them even after they gave up their family weekend time to go to classes and get certified. And again was denied the use of extra coaching because the middle school complained that they did not have any community coaching. These are just one of many things that coach Brocato is up against.
And what you do not realize is that the team only has ONLY A hand full of upper classmen playing. A lot of freshmen and sophmores are starting. He is basically playing these games with a bunch of 15 yrs olds against 17-18yrs olds. RHParenttoo you have not a clue! Maybe you need to come up with a planned and detailed schmematic on how to coach football? Be sides what you watch on TV. There are alot of young players like I said on that team and you really need to wait a couple of years when those kids are the same age as everyone else they are playing...before you make a statement like bringing the Middle school coach in. Nothing against Boone but, thats Middle school ball ..might as well be rec. High school is a horse of a different color. Boone would do no better with this years team. Most likely worst because he is not used to coaching high school. Before Boone we had a coach that was the offensive coordinator at the state champion Screven County High the year before he came to RHMS. Well he did not win one game with RHMS. The kids that played for him then are the ones playing today for the High School(juniors & seniors).
And for those who do not think the wish bone works, If you knew anything about the bone it was designed for a smaller line and backs.
Also coach Brocato started a weight lifting program this past summer because the boys are weak. And until you make your sons go work out and get stronger,faster they will continue to get kicked around. Football is a sport you have to work on all year round. Running and weightlifting. And the coach is trying to build his team up mentally and phyically.
Look, it takes more than a couple of years to build a winning program any seasoned coach will tell you that. The kids do like Brocato and they do believe in him.
Effingham County went for years without maybe 1 or 2 wins, So did Sav Christain, BC.
Also, There seems to be a lot of people willing to down the coaching staff without really coming to the conclusion that little johnny just ain't the super star that you think he is. The coaching staff wants to win more than anyone but there is only so much you can do with a young team such as RHHS.
