Jeff Morton is truely the peoples candidate and will continue to provide outstanding leadership coupled with sound judgment to the School Board as Vice Chairman. Get out and vote for Jeff Morton!

JMcCray you are correct in that Carrol Ann Coleman is a Dr. Brewer supporter and also everyone needs to know that the same is true of Candance Piper. A vote for either of these two candidates is a vote against change within our school system. Voters need to support both Jeff Morton and Charlie Johnson.
And let's not forget Dr. Brewer's candidate in Pembroke, Wanda Lane. Dennis Seeger is running against her in the District 2 race. Time to vote for CHANGE in our school board, not more of the same.
Why to you have to be so mean? Carrol Ann and Dr. Brewer and Candy Piper know that it is too hot for children in August, so the best place for them is in the air conditioning at school. You can use all your fancy statistics all you want, it is just too hot for kids to be playing outside during the summer. Jeez, what is your problem? You don't think Dr. Brewer knows what is best for children? Hey, she is a Doctor, are you?
Welcome back, Candide! We've missed your unwavering (and tongue-in-cheek) support of our illustrious superintendent!
I honestly think the biggest difference between Dr. Brewer and some of these obsessed parents, is that she has the whole district's interest at heart and many of these soccer moms have their own agendas. For example, you have that one semi-hysterical mom that stays up night and day worrying about the school start date. How did it work out for Chatham? Our kids were out in late May and theirs were riding the bus in 100 degree temperatures. (See, it's hot in June as well as August). We also weren't paying $5.00 per gallon for fuel in June for buses to run in our county while Chatham was paying through the wazoo for fuel at current prices. I know people pick and choose 'data' to support their personal agendas. You can find snippets of info out on the Internet that claims to support better scores if schools start later. Guess what? The states you quote would have better scores if they started in July! Let's see if Chatham's scores go through the roof with their late start date. I'm not holding my breath.
Drive by that run down Board office in Pembroke any weekend. You'll see Dr. Brewer's car in the parking lot. Go by there at 7:00am. She's there working. Go by there at 7:00pm. She's there working.
The recently-arrived Hillians better be careful what they wish for, it might come true.
Greyie,
Let's hope so, for the sake of all the "Hillians" and their children. I think that Ms. Brewer is a bit more tilted to her best interest and the six figure job she currently holds.
Just my opinion......

Mr. Johnson, since you're running for School Board, I suggest you make an effort to sit down and talk to Dr. Brewer and get to know her. I think you'd have a different opinion. Listening to rumors and observing from afar is not the best appoach.
I'll be voting for Jeff Morton, but I don't want a late August/early September start date. I've mentioned before, with the schedule we have now, final exams for first semester are finished before Christmas break, (no worries, no homework during break, just relaxation), and the kids are out by Memorial Day. 2 pluses in my book....and it's ALWAYS hot on the buses, it doesn't matter when it is.
Thanks Greyie,
I have over the past two years attempted to talk to Ms. Brewer. She doesn't return calls. (I've been told I can't contact her directly and must use the "School's Chain of Command"). I am forming my opinions from what I have personally observed/experienced, from speaking with teachers and hearing their experiences, and listening to parents. I am, after all, running for an office to represent the views and desires of the people in the 3rd District to the BoE.
