Agree McCray. Hopefully our new board members will ban together. It's time for new faces to step up to the plate and take charge in Bryan County :=)
Here's another point. Using Brewer's rule of thumb, the schools should immediately drop the Kroger Commitment Cards (they sell beer and wine) and the Publix Partners program (ditto). Let's carry it a step further and say the Box Tops program should be eliminated because General Foods (Kraft) sells a barbecue sauce that contains Guinness beer. How far does this need to go? Does Brewer ever think through her decisions or does she just decree them as soon as they enter her twisted psyche?
Hey everyone...thanks for the support.
First, we need to thank everyone who showed up at the recent school board meeting to show their support for our business.
Next, part of me says to quit posting on these blogs, shut-up and let this thing die down, but I just can't seem to do that. I am still very upset over this entire situation, and I am not going sway.
Next, what frustrates us the most is that after walking away from the board meeting everyone thinks that the decision regarding fundraisers was left in the hands of our school principals. But I am in possession of an email from Dr Brewer to her principals stating school activities cannot take place in a business which sells alcohol. So, after reading this...what decision will most principals make..she has made her position very clear to them. Other interesting note with this email is that she says that our churches are also off limits for awards ceremeonies and fundraising activities...imagaine having to worry about protecting our children because they are on church property...I would love to hear what our community thinks about this...imagine the leader of our schools feeling the need to protect students from our community churches. This is amazing.
I trust the new board will take bring about the changes in the school system that they promised during the election.
Again everyone...thanks for your support and remember we are here help our community.
Thanks everyone and have a great Thanksgiving.
Doug Goolsby
Mr. Goolsby,
My family and I enjoy your establishment a lot and recommend it far and wide. We are military and appreciate your discount days a lot. Thank you for your commitment to all aspects of the local community here in Richmond Hill.
Dr. Brewer lives in very public fear of being sued. That is big part of this, pure and simple. I'm thinking that on top of the stated vindictiveness, someone put the thought in her head that if someone got buzzed at one of the fundraisers and got in an accident, the school district will get sued... the same with using a church for a ceremony. If some Atheist got offended that a ceremony was held at a church, this district might be sued for church and state issues. That was the issue at the crux of the out of state travel arguement as well.
No matter what Mr. Goolsby, thank you for everything you've done for Richmond Hill and Bryan County.
